Important Car Rider Reminders from Brookwood Elementary
Brookwood Elementary has worked with the Gwinnett County Police Department and Gwinnett County Public Schools' Resource Officers to ensure that our community streets are not blocked during arrival and dismissal. Here are some important reminders for car rider drop off and pick up:
- Car rider drop off begins at 8:20 am. Please have your child remain in your vehicle until staff members come out of the building to monitor drop off.
- The car rider line begins behind the fence of the lower parking lot. For the safety of students, staff, and other vehicles, please follow the car pool line traffic pattern.
- Please remain in the line of traffic after dropping off/picking up your student. Do not pull out and pass around other cars.
- Morning car riders - We request that you enter the car rider line between 8:20 - 8:40am. This will be during the timeframe that the line will be moving for arrival.
- Afternoon car riders - We request that you enter the car rider line between 3:20 - 3:40pm. This will be during the timeframe that the line will be moving for dismissal.
- Please do not block streets or roadways at any point.
- To ensure safe drop off and pick up, students need to exit and enter from the passenger side of the vehicle (the side of the vehicle closest to the school building).
Book Clubs for 3rd and 4th Grade Students
Does your child love to read? The Brookwood Elementary Media Center has book clubs for 3rd and 4th grade students interested in meeting monthly during lunch to discuss the month's book pick. Students interested in joining the 3rd Grade Chapter Chat Book Club or the 4th Grade Page Turner Book Club will need to read an assigned book and complete a quiz. Students may stop by the Media Center on August 18 or 19 to pick up a copy of the assigned book from Mrs. Reynolds.
More information about Brookwood Elementary's other clubs and extracurricular activities will be released in September.
