Scientific Revolution

What was the change?
A lot of things changed the way they thought and thoughts on how things worked. Scholars started publishing works that challenged the ideas of ancient thinkers and church. like people for the longest thought that the earth was in the center of the universe and everything revolved around it but people challenged it and proved it wrong.
Who were the people associated with the change?
Copernicus
Was one of the first astronomers who challenged the geocentric theory but he didn't publish his work until his last year he was alive. Because he feared ridicule and/or persecution. He made the fundamentals for the scientific method.
Kepler
He concluded certain mathematical laws that governed how the planets moved. This backed up Copernicus' work.
Galileo
built his own telescope and studied space in the 1610 and he published a small book called starry messenger which also proved Copernicus was right in 1632 he published a dialogue concerning the two chief system. the church didn't like him so the pope summoned him to Rome so he could stand trial before the Inquisition they sentenced him to house arrest. he discovered that Jupiter had four moons and the sun had dark spots etc.
How did the change impact society at the time?
this impacted a lot of things they science got more advanced and people started to do new things. technology was advancing forward like the telescope a barometer and a thermometer were all created at the time.
How is that change evidenced in today's modern society?
The scientific revolution has affected modern society in many different ways. It affects the way we think and the way we do things nowadays; it has made our lives easier. It has improved the way we live and made possible the impossible. Some of these evidence may include the exploration of the new world and the industrial revolution. If it wasn't for these things society wouldn't have never moved forward, and therefore we would probably still have the mentality that only church can rule over us.
