How Gang Violence leads to Human Rights Violations

On the Human Rights article, 3. Right to life, liberty, personal security, 5. No torture, 11. Right to be considered innocent until proven guilty are all rights that are being violated. This topic is important because we need to narrow down violence. Young kids and adults are being affected who are sometimes in innocent situations. Innocent people get killed often for things gang members cause. Some specific statistics and facts about my issue are that gangs can be organized upon race, ethnicity, territory or money making activities. There are members of ages 8 to 22. According to TheHuffington Post, the murder rate of Chicago this year as of Oct.18 is nearly 4 times higher than New York City and more than 2.5 times higher than Los Angeles.Chicago's population is 3 times smaller than NYC and twice as small as Los Angeles population.

What is being done to Stop the Violence?
