HYBRID LEARNING RESUMES
Last week, we introduced a new alternating hybrid schedule. Please refer to the January Hybrid calendar below for your child's scheduled day to attend school.
Please read these Frequently Asked Questions for key information, Should you have any other questions not addressed in the FAQ, please reach out to your school directly.
100TH DAY OF SCHOOL
Friday, January 22 is a Very Special Day! It's the 100th Day of School! We need you to make sure your child is either AT SCHOOL or LOGGED IN TO BUZZ on this day! Our school gets funding for every student counted on this day!
Join us in celebrating the 100th day of School by creating a collage with your family. There are tons of ideas online! Send us a picture of your completed collage (with your family included if you'd like :) and we will showcase all the pictures in the hallway at Harris. Everyone who submits a picture will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 KOHLS gift card!

Reporting Attendance During Hybrid
While we are in Hybrid Learning, it is important to log-into Buzz on the days your child isn’t on campus to report their attendance; otherwise, parents will receive an email and/or phone call from their school’s attendance specialist to verify if they have been working on any school-related work that day.
2020-21 Harris Student Council
In an effort to beautify our campus, student council generously voted to purchase a giant size Harris Hawk for the front of our building. This week, it finally arrived and the kids couldn't be happier! It looks amazing! We are so excited for all the incredible things coming soon to Harris.

It's More Than An Application!!
This year, Gilbert Public Schools received an additional 5.9 million dollars in Federal funds based on income guidelines directly related to student free & reduced lunch eligibility. Taking the time to complete a GPS Free & Reduced Lunch Application means we can continue providing additional academic support and services for students (even if your child decides not to participate in the lunch program). Thank you for taking the time to complete an online application and to help ensure our school receives its fair share of Federal funds. Click here to watch a short video to learn just how important these funds are to our schools and all of our students.

What Does It Mean To Be A Title I School?
Title I is the largest federal aid program for public schools. Schools can be designated as “Title I” if certain criteria are met. Title I is the federal government’s commitment to closing the achievement gap between low-income and moderate to high income students. These funds are used to help all students meet academic standards. Click the links below to learn more!
