WHS Goal Updates
Close Reading - Close Reading is an effective strategy that can be used across content areas. Please invite admin to observe when you are planning to utilize this strategy.
PLCs will focus on Literacy in the Content areas for 10/21 and 10/25.
The Social Studies Open Response window begins November 4th.
Math - The BLT is planning PD for Oct. 25th that will include BME data, BME standards, and Math practices.
Read HERE for more information on the 8 Common Core Math Practices that can be used across content areas.
Behavior - Congrats on your first PBIS Jeans day! I have heard several students tell me that they are trying to earn student of the month. They are noticing that we are recognizing more students and want to earn the designation. Great work!

These are meant to be five minute snapshots of the classroom. Principals will send you an email with the walkthrough form attached.
Please also be sure to invite us to lessons when you plan to utilize Close Reading.

Cooler Weather Reminders
- Please do not allow students to use blankets in the classroom. Blankets should be left at home, in their car, or in a locker
- Please do not leave food in your room. We have already seen an increase in rodent and insect activity with the cooler temperatures.

CoVitality Screener
CoVitality, a mental health screener, will be given to 9th and 11th grade students the week of the 28th. Freshmen will take it in their advisory on Tuesday, October 29th and juniors will take it in advisory on Wednesday, October 30th. A link to the screener will be emailed directly to students email by Abby Myers the morning of the event. Please see Abby Myers if you have any questions.
