Dear JISD Parents
Until next Friday, stay safe, stay healthy, and enjoy your weekend.
Daily Student Screener
Judson ISD requires all parents/guardians to complete a COVID-19 Screening Survey Questionnaire for their child each school day. The screener will be sent to the parent/guardian's email address and must be completed before entering the campus.
The Student Screener will begin on Monday, September 28. You should expect an email early in the morning. The email will contain a link to a screener survey that is specific to each of your children.
If you do not receive the electronic screener through email, you can complete the screener by scanning the QR code located at building entry points or typing in https://bit.ly/jisdcovidscreen into a web browser. If you access the screener with the QR code or the web address, you will need your child’s student ID number.
If your child participates in remote virtual instruction, you will still need to fill out the screener, but it will have very few questions.
We truly appreciate your support in this process!

Hispanic Heritage Month with Wortham Oaks Elementary
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15), Wortham Oaks Elementary hosted its first virtual Spanish Club meeting. They learned all about Hispanic Heritage Month, read a book called “Chicks and Salsa”, and practiced some Spanish words. Then they made some yummy guacamole! They even made cute avocado amigos out of construction paper and tissue paper. Gracias to all who participated, below are some pictures of our JISD amigos who participated!
Daily Curbside Meal Pick-up for Virtual Instruction Students
JISD Child Nutrition will be changing the way meals will be provided for students starting September 28th. Meal delivery by school buses has ended. Beginning Monday, September 28, 2020, meals for students continuing with virtual instruction will be distributed through DAILY curbside service at ANY JISD CAMPUS. Each campus has its specific curbside meal time window. Check below for your child’s campus curbside schedule. This means Monday through Friday; each campus will provide breakfast and lunch. As you likely know, September 28th is the date when face-to-face instruction will be available at all our campuses, and those students physically attending will be fed on campus. This delivery change will help make meal preparation and distribution more efficient for both types of students.

Parent Troubleshooting Guide
Have you Filled Out your 2020 Census Questionnaire?
Just a reminder that our children and community will benefit from programs and entities funded based on the level of community response to the census. These include the school breakfast and lunch program, special education program, grants for teachers, parental involvement and literacy intervention programs, hospitals, clinics, emergency and disaster relief programs, roads and highways, national parks, and much, much more. There are only nine census questions, and responding is quick and easy and will benefit our children and community for many years to come.
This is the last month to complete the 2020 Census, so let’s be sure to get counted. Just click the image and fill it out today.
