February Digital Citizenship
Hello Waukesha Parents,
This month’s Digital Citizenship focus is on Intellectual Property and Fair Use. As parents, you teach your children not to take away someone else’s things; that’s called stealing. Students know that they can’t copy someone else’s homework and turn it in as their own; that’s cheating. We also need to teach our children not to take someone else’s ideas, images or information, called intellectual property, from the internet, too, without getting permission, or giving credit to the person or organization.
Thank you for discussing this topic with your students at home.
Jill Wickham, Library Media Specialist
School District of Waukesha
The School District of Waukesha is committed to providing high quality science education to all students. We ask that each family complete this survey so that we can best meet the needs of all students. Please answer the questions, based on your entire experience as a whole, not just the current school year.
Your answers will give insight to the ways we can best instruct and build our curriculum, so your time is greatly appreciated.

In addition to just having a great time and building amazing robots, through their participation in the VEX IQ Robotics Competition and their work within their team, students will learn many academic and life skills.
An electronic form was emailed on February 6, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. to register for this program. There is only space for 24 committed and enthusiastic 3rd to 5th students.
Labels for Education
Hadfield Elementary is now collecting and redeeming Labels for Education!
Through the program we can collect UPCs from participating products to earn points that can be redeemed for FREE educational merchandise!
It’s easy to help – simply save UPCs from participating products and drop them off at Hadfield Elementary (in the office or give to your child's teacher). Just look for this image on many products you already use - from Campbells to V8 Splash to Bic.
Thank you for your support. Together with the Labels for Education program – we can build a better school for our children.
