WMS Weekly Bulletin
April 21-27, 2019
In the spirit of the season of reflection - student learning objectives, goal-setting, and the like - it is time to examine our Campus Improvement Plan and see what all we accomplished this year and determine where our path will lead next year.
In my mind, our CIP is our promise to ourselves, our scholars, and our parents of the things we want for our school and everyone in it. The word "promise" is intentional for me because it bears an emotional connection and not just a checkbox on a piece of paper.
Instead of regular CAST tomorrow, please meet during your conference period in the LGI to determine which goals and objectives we addressed and/or completed this year. We've started this process before during Design Team meetings by adding a feather with evidence to support our actions. You will continue this work providing insight all the way down to the specifics of your classrooms and scholar organizations. Your Department Chair or Conference Period leader will facilitate the process.
Note: There are likely some goals/objectives that we didn't quite get to this year, and that's OK - we will keep working on things until we master them!
I'm excited to see the fruits of our labor on display for all to see as we recognize the AMAZING work we've put into making our first year fantastic!
Go Warhawks! And, remember, you belong here.

In the post titled, "To Boost Learning, Just Add Movement," she writes:
If you were to start singing “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider” right now, I bet you’d have a hard time keeping your hands still. That’s because most of us who know the song learned it with gestures, and things we learn with physical movement tend to stick.
We can apply that same principle to classroom learning, using movement to enhance learning from preschool all the way through college. Let’s take a look at what the research says about movement-based learning, then explore six different ways you can add more movement to your instruction.
