Mr. Budisch's Bright Lights

Second Week In the Books and New Look for the Bright Lights

We had our first all school assembly this past Wednesday and all of our teachers and instructional assistants were introduced to the students. When all of the staff was introduced, the kids let out a great cheer in appreciation of them. There were plenty of smiles to go around.

We also had a brief explanation of the 9/11 tragedy, at the kids level (all of whom were not born at the time) and we said the Pledge of Allegiance together while facing a flag held by one of our third graders in memory of those who died that day.

Our assemblies will always be held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month to provide our teachers with a bit more time to work together on our interventions for the children.

Our two volunteer workshops were held this past week Thursday in an effort to raise awareness for the work these wonderful people do and to connect them a bit closer to the special role they play in the operation of our school. There will be one more workshop held on Monday, Sept. 16th, 7:00 PM, just before the annual meeting, in the Primary School cafeteria.

With the help of Mr. Posick, I am trying to bring more of the special and typical events of our school days to you with this new format. I will be bringing photos of the kids at work and at play, inside of school and outside too, with this program called SEMORE.

I hope you will enjoy it and will spread the word to make sure your friends and neighbors take a couple of moments to take a look.

Thank you very much! Mike Budisch
