News from the Holy Rosary/Juan Diego Community

Message from the Principal: Jan. 25th

Happy Wednesday!

As we prepare to enter Catholic Schools Week, I am reminded of what Catholic Education means. Naturally, we must have academic excellence. We must also create a solid moral foundation and educate the children in the ways of the Church. Beyond this, though, we work to create a culture of love, respect, and service. Through our actions, we strive to demonstrate this each and every day. One example of this was attending the Mass for Life and March for Life this past week. Through the shouts of angry protesters, the group on our side declared in one voice that we support life through hope and love. As Father Wichert reminded us, that means love for all...even those who disagree with us. This was a powerful message for the kids to see in action.

A special thank you to all who are volunteering at the Crab Feed and those who are attending as guests, as well as the many who have put in countless hours preparing for the big event. This is an important fundraiser and gives us the opportunity to provide a Catholic education to all families who are committed to this.

So, as we get ready to begin Catholic Schools Week, I want to thank all of the teachers and parents who are dedicated to providing this for our children each and every day! We are doing important things at the school and I thank you for your support and prayers. We couldn't do it without God and without you!

Blessings,

Katie Dempsey

Principal

CYO Volleyball Sign-Ups are Here!

CYO Volleyball Season Slated to Begin Soon!

Holy Rosary Catholic School is actively taking signups for the upcoming Volleyball season and for the Girls' Volleyball.

Practices will begin in February. Leagues games will be played on Saturdays.

Holy Rosary CYO Volleyball provides a safe and balanced learning environment for players of all abilities that develops the athletic skills, character, sportsmanship, and teamwork of children in grades 4 through 8 through their participation in Volleyball. Volleyball registrations will be in the school office, beginning 11 January 2017

Cost will be about $75 per player which includes your jersey (not shorts). Registration is for grades 4-8 for boys and girls. By signing up, there is no guarantee your child will be playing on a team. Teams will need to have at least 9 players and have a coach.

Coaches Wanted!

We are looking for Volleyball coaches for grade level 4 - 8. If you are enthusiastic and willing to teach our kids about team sports, please volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering as a head or assistant coach, please let me know. You may contact me to find out if your grade level already has a coach/coaches. The Volleyball season starts practicing in February. The season will run through April, maybe into May depending how many teams we get to sign up.

Coaches are responsible for recruiting additional members at the grade level they wish to participate.

Practices will be held at Fawcett Elementary
