Principal's Promptings
Many of you know I recently experienced a tragic loss with the murder of my younger brother. It's not the first sudden loss in my family, as my mother died in a car accident 12 years ago, but each one makes me take pause. Grief is a funny beast that steals joy, but also brings clarity. That clarity comes in recognizing what is truly important-what really matters. Many petty differences suddenly seem much less irritating. Many overscheduled events suddenly take on less importance. I would urge you to take this same vision in your daily lives with your child or children. What minor annoyances can be overlooked? What quality time can you carve out together? What unimportant items need dropped to make room for what truly matters? This life is fleeting...do your children know how much you care? Do your actions match your words? Please don't wait for a tragedy for your eyes to be opened to the necessity to engulf them in a hug and tell them they matter to you. Take the time today and every day to tell (and show) your loved ones how much they mean to you.
Thank you for sharing this journey with me....
