New Resources to Support Learning
A professional room has been created in the library. Read-alouds and literature that support the curriculum have been organized by topic area. A database is available on the school's shared drive (media center folder) to help you locate the book. Class sets of books, paperbacks for your class library, professional books, and journals are also available.
Destiny
The destiny catalog is now more user friendly. The universal search feature allows quick access to books, ebooks, and websites with a graphic interface showing book covers, similar Amazon. If you need a book, simply log in, place a hold on the book, and I will receive a message asking me to get the book for you. In addition, you can download one of the over 1000 ebooks available to use with your students. Your user name is your the first part or your email, and the password is your employer ID number.
Learn 360
ETV streamline is no longer providing content through Discovery Education. A new partnership with Learn360 includes award winning video clips, music, and pictures from BBC, National Geographic, BigKids.com, Learning Zone Express and many other partners and producers. Your user name has not changed, but the password is scetv until you log in for the first time. Please contact Mrs. Turner if you do not have an ETV Streamline account.
Web Resources
A quick access point to web resources has been added to the media center webpage. It includes links to District resources, noodle tools, interactive math games, kid friendly search engines, as well as grade specific pages. A link to this resource has been added to all class webpages.
Professional Learning Communities
A group page has been created in Edivation for each Professional Learning Community (PLC). The site (used for observations) provides best practice videos and suggestions from teachers across the country. Group members are able share ideas, instructional strategies, and resources with each other to support your goals. If you have not already joined your group, contact Mrs. Turner. https://www.pd360.com.
