GRANT TIME!
The HEB ISD Education Foundation Empowered to Excel Grant application for the 2020-2021 school year is now available online at www.hebisdedfoundation.org. Visit the grants-in-action page to access the online application portal.
$29,000 was donated to the Education Foundation during the ARE YOU IN? Inspire, Innovate, Invest, staff campaign, which will go directly to deserving campuses and classrooms. Thank you to the over 610 HEB ISD educators and staff who gave through one-time gifts and payroll deduction.
The staff campaign funds combined with the investment funds made available from the Education Foundation will provide just over $90,000 for the Empowered to Excel Grant program for the 2020-2021 school year.
The deadline for the Empowered to Excel Grant application is Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. Applications will only be accepted electronically and will need to be electronically signed by your principal to be considered.
Visit www.hebisdedfoundation.org for the online grant application, guidelines, online tutorial, and essential, “how-to” information. Previous grant recipients have offered to mentor those looking for assistance with completing the grant application. For more information on the grants, mentors, or questions please contact Jenna M. ROCK 2- Progress and Aggressive Monitoring
When do I aggressively monitor and how?
Aggressive Monitoring should happen whenever you ask students to practice during the lesson. Here's how:
- Have your exemplar for all independent practice in hand.
- Announce the purpose of each lap (identified through your exemplar).
- Follow the pathway of slow to start students and fast finishers first.
- Provide written and verbal feedback to students using the established coding system and assessing and advancing questions.
- Collect qualitative data to inform instructional decisions based on each lap.
