Mayan tradition and culture

Sacrifice
The mayan have verry unique traditions such as human sacrifice, and the priests would scrifice themselves by piercing a body part and offering their own blood. also piercing their own tongues putting a thread through it and letting the blood go throught the thread.
Beliefs
Mayans believed that the world was completely flat including 4 corners, like a square. eats was red symbolizing the sun's rebirth while the west was black symbolizing the suns death. The north was white and the south was yellow. the was a Big Ceiba tree in the middle while they believed united them together. the roots reached down to the dead and the branched reached up to heaven, where the gods lived.
