Wednesday Note
October 19, 2022
A Note from our Principal
Greetings, WPA Families,
Restaurant Night- THURSDAY!
We look forward to seeing you on October 20th at Cafe Rio in West Bountiful for restaurant Night. Take a night off cooking, connect with WPA Families, and support the school. It's a win, win, win opportunity. This is an all-day event from 11 am-9 pm so you can join us for lunch, dinner, or both!
End of Term and Late Work
First Term is next month. The last day for late work is October 19th. Please check Aspire early to help your student(s) keep up with missing assignments. October 21st will be the last day of the First Term.
Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found cupboard is getting quite full. Please take a moment to check it before it gets donated at the end of the month!
Picture Re-takes
If you missed school pictures in early September, we will offer re-takes on Oct 25th.
Halloween
We will celebrate Halloween on October 28th with our annual Parade, Costumes, and class parties. We will be hosting our annual Halloween parade at 8:15. Parents are welcome to join us in the gym. The whole parade will pass through the gym once so, please plan accordingly. (Please be aware that video recording is not allowed inside the school and please be conscious of not taking pictures of other students without their parent's permission.) Students are welcome to wear costumes for this event. We do ask that costumes be in keeping with our dress-down day dress code, be appropriate content for an elementary school, have no weapons, and have no excessive blood or gore. The Halloween parade usually takes about an hour and needs to move quickly through doorways. For this reason, costumes that are wide, very delicate, or have long trails struggle to fit through doorways and are not advised. We will be ending the day with our Halloween class parties. If you are interested in helping with class parties, please reach out to your child's class captain.
Hearing Screenings
On November 2nd, we are holding hearing screenings at the school for students in grade Kindergarten – 3rd grade and students with special education services. A hearing screening is a brief test to check on hearing acuity at the frequencies of 1k, 2k, 4k Hz at 25dB. If there is any concern about your child’s hearing, you will be notified and advised as to the need for more comprehensive evaluation.
Screening will be held in the morning, so we ask that students arrive on time on November 2nd. If you do not wish for your child to participate in the hearing screening, please notify Julie Nelson (jnelson@wasatchpeak.org) by Wednesday, October 26th.
Someone Special Breakfast - Community Event
