Sixth and Seventh Grades’ Field Trip to NASA

Sixth and Seventh Grade STREAM Edible Rovers

The sixth and seventh graders created edible rovers using candy pieces to represent the parts. They also included a religious emblem on the rover. Using the engineering design process, they used all the STREAM subjects and made modifications to stay under a $20 budget when purchasing all of the edible parts.

Bookfair Details from Mrs. Baldree

Dear Parents and Families:

We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. Hosted in our Media Center, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school library.

Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which is scheduled to take place from Friday, May 20 through noon on Friday, May 27:

  • Family members are invited to shop the book fair during their student’s scheduled library class that week. Homeroom teachers can confirm your child’s library time with you. Please let your child’s teacher know if you are planning to visit the fair. You will need to stop at the office to sign in with your driver’s license and pick up a visitor’s pass. You will only be allowed in the library during your child(ren)’s library period.

  • Our Book Fair offers eWallet is a safe and secure alternative to cash. Simply create a free account to add funds and/or invite family and friends to contribute so your child can select their own books. If you previously used eWallet for the fall book fair, unused funds should show up in your child’s spring eWallet.

  • If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school library.

Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more about our upcoming fair and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

We will be sending home a book fair flyer with your student. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that all advertised items will be available at our book fair. Keep that in mind while choosing items described in the flyer.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs. Baldree

Catholic Youth Sports Requirement for 2022-2023 - Play Like a Champion Virtual Workshop May 24th

Dear Families,

Effective in 2022 the Parent Like a Champion Today (PLCT) workshop will be mandatory for any family who wants their child taking part in Catholic school sports. This is a required course every three years, which means you only have to take 60-90 minutes of your time to attend the course every three years from the comfort of your home.

PLCT will offer at least one online parent workshop each month. At the start of Fall 2022 no player will be placed on a team roster until the player’s parent/guardian attends the online parent workshop. This gives families several months to complete a workshop.

PLCT will send CYS a list of families who attend a workshop, and the registrar will note your family account. All future registrations will ask a family if they have attended the parent workshop. If they have not attended a link will be provided for them to register for upcoming workshops.

The LAST workshop of the school year will be May 24th. Register TODAY if you want your child to play CYS sports next school year!

CLICK here for registration link. Enter the registration code “OrlandoParent” to waive the registration fee.

We look forward to all families attending the Parent Like a Champion Today workshop that will make the Diocese of Orlando Catholic Schools the beacon of light for school sports.
