4th Annual Walkathon
Our 4th annual East Walk for Wishes Walkathon will be held on Wednesday, October 4th. This year we are raising money not only for our school, but for 3 year old Make a Wish child, Finley. Finley's wish is to go to Disney World and we want to make that happen. Donation envelopes were sent home today with your child with directions on how to get donations, as well as the link to our online store (https://squareup.com/store/franklin-township-middle-school-east) for friends and family who are out of town to be able to donate. We have many fun activities for the students to participate in this year such as face painting, dunking your favorite teacher or principal in the dunk tank, obstacle course, concessions, Kona Ice, and always a favorite, Dodge Ball! Students will also be included in raffles to win some fabulous prizes such as chrome books, Target and Meijer gift cards, East Spirit Wear package, Sports Package, Pizza Party, Night out to the Movies, and much more. Student's participation in events, and raffle tickets earned depends on their level of donations they raise. Let's make this the biggest and best Walkathon East has had yet! Thank you in advance for your support.

WALKATHON LUNCH REMINDER
Here is tomorrow's lunch announcement to students:
Tomorrow is our Walkathon and this is a reminder if you filled out the red lunch survey that you would be bringing a sack lunch from home tomorrow, YOU MUST BRING THAT LUNCH. The cafeteria WILL NOT have extra sack lunches. They will only have sack lunches for those students who marked they would be purchasing their lunch. Again, if you chose to bring a sack lunch from home for the Walkathon, YOU MUST BRING that with you tomorrow.

INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY CARD OPT OUT LETTER
The Franklin Township School District is partnering with The Indianapolis Public Library to make sure that every student in the township has a library card. Having a library card ensures that students are connected to the wealth of print and digital resources that are available through The Indianapolis Public Library.
This partnership provides an opportunity to create seamless learning opportunities for all of your students, who might need to use their library card to access electronic resources to support their class curriculum.
Here are the details for The Indianapolis Public Library card:
· If your student has never had a card, they will receive a new library card that will give them full access to all E-Resources as well as limited access to physical material.
· If your student has had a library card but it has expired, if there are no fines on their account, their card will be renewed and only the number will be provided...
· If your student has had a library card, and there are fines of $5.00 or more on their account, their card will be renewed and their number will be provided to allow access to online material. They will also be enrolled in the library’s Earn and Learn Program. This program allows students to get out of debt by reading down their fines. Students will still be able to borrow a limited number of physical items and will have full access to all E-Resources. Additional information about the program is available at The Indianapolis Public Library.
If for some reason you do NOT want your student to receive a library card from The Indianapolis Public Library, please complete the OPT OUT information at the bottom of the letter below and return it to the FTMSE library. OPT OUT LETTERS ARE DUE TO THE EAST LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER BY SEPTEMBER 29, 2017.
