What's the new 5th grade PE activity?
Who's that reading to Franklin 1st grade students?
Miss Mankato Reads to Franklin Classroom
The Community Engagement office partnered with Miss Mankato to bring her in to read and talk about kindness. Taylor Sexton is the current Miss Mankato and she came in to Franklin on April 27 to Mrs. Hoffman's 1st grade class. Taylor read the book "Have you Filled a Bucket Today?" and shared about how kindness in our everyday lives can not only help other people, but make our personal "buckets" fill up as well. Thank you Taylor for sharing your wonderful message with our students!
What did 5th graders learn about going to Prairie Winds?
A few weeks ago our 5th graders got to visit Prairie Winds Middle School to hear what their 6th grade year will be like, take a tour of the building and ask questions of current 6th graders. Here is a link to the video we watched telling us all about 6th grade at PWMS!
If you haven't turned in your Project Right Start form you can still bring it back to Franklin! This is a great opportunity for students to get to know PWMS in the summer! Mrs. Berg or your classroom teacher can get you a form if you need one!
Want to give a shout out?
We are inviting families to email Mr. Olson when their child(ren) have a successful experience outside of school. The celebration will then be included in the morning school wide announcement. Ideas of things that families might want announced: winning a soccer tournament, moving up to a new tae kwon do belt, participating in the regional science fair, etc. If you have something that you'd like us to recognize your child(ren) for, email tolson1@isd77.k12.mn.us:

How do families sign up children for athletic camps?
The various athletic camps (football, volleyball, boys and girls basketball, and baseball) will now all run through Community Ed. The catalog that was mailed out to homes recently has all the information to sign up. If you did not receive this catalog, you can sign up online through Mankato Area Public Schools website. It is under the Departments tab and Community Ed http://www.mankatocer.com/
Thank you and go Cougars!
How will the East construction impact bus students?
East will be closing the west parking lot (Tennis Court Lot or Junior High Lot) to student and staff parking from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm as of Wednesday, April 12th.
The East staff have worked with Palmer and Yeager Bus Companies to develop a plan for bus exchange, student drop off, and student pick up that provides the safest possible conditions for students we will be moving the exchange zone to the parking lot on the west side of the building.
East will have extra staff on-site beginning on Monday, April 17th to make sure students will be able to find the right bus in a safe manner. See map below.
This will not change any times for our routes. All will run on the same schedules.

Thank You to Christina Shortall and Danielle Studtmann: Please join us in thanking Christina Shortall and Danielle Studtmann for their incredible leadership and dedication to PTO in executive positions for so many years.
