Welcome Dr. Renee Mosser
The School District of Haverford is proud to welcome Dr. Renee Mosser as Principal of Manoa Elementary School. Dr. Mosser comes to Haverford from the Exeter Township School District, where she was Principal at Jacksonwald Elementary School.
During her nine years in both the Exeter and Allentown School Districts, Dr. Mosser has dedicated her leadership to developing innovative, productive, and student-centered learning to personalize the education experiences for children. She facilitated an Instructional Leadership team to establish tiered interventions of support to personalize learning and achieve student growth. She helped to develop and implement the Comprehensive School Strategic Plan centered around academic progress, curriculum development, student enrollment, parent involvement, data analysis, and reporting. Through ALICE training, she managed and improved school safety procedures. Dr. Mosser developed a positive school culture by fostering relationships between the school and the community.
Dr. Mosser has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from Kutztown University, a Master in Education from Temple University, and a Doctorate of Educational Leadership and Administration from Immaculata University.
Dr. Mosser will be walking the Manoa community with a special friend, Mr. Quinn. We encourage all families to greet them with a friendly wave and “Hello.” Then, please join Dr. Mosser, Mr. Quinn, and Maximus for some Kona Ice and conversation on the Manoa playground after the walk.
- Date: Tuesday, August 2nd (Rain date: Wednesday, August 3rd)
- Location & Estimated Times: Hilltop Park (2 pm) & S. Manoa Rd. (3 pm)
- End Point: Join Dr. Mosser, Mr. Quinn, and MAXIMUS at Manoa Elementary’s playground for some Kona Ice (sponsored by the PTO) from 4:00-5:30 pm
New Parent/Guardian Notification System Coming
SwiftK12 is a notification system in PowerSchool that the district will use and replace School Messenger. Using your PowerSchool parent/guardian account you can securely access and update your contact information on your device. In August, information will be sent to families with instructions on how to create a PowerSchool parent account and a date for the opening of the Parent Portal to update any necessary notification changes.
Summer Curriculum Resources: Reading, Math, and Kindergarten Readiness
Our summer reading list is full of great ideas and interesting titles in both print and digital formats. We have also included an optional calendar of literacy activities if you are looking for ideas. Activities for maintenance and enrichment are provided on each grade-level page.
During the summer, we recommend that families carve out a time for students to read most days. We would like our students to continue reading daily so that they maintain their reading skills and build a love for reading. Before returning to school, complete the Summer Reading Summary Form on the grade-level page. Teachers will review student responses when school resumes.
You can find Summer Curriculum Resources here.
