The connection between both Nikes

In Greek mythology, the wreath symbolizes victory. The company did not choose the wreath for their symbol, but chose a more modern day symbol called the "swoosh." The symbol symbolizes the wing of the goddess Nike. The Greek goddess used fame and glory to assist people in achieving victory. To this day, Nike has also put their fame and glory to use by signing athletes up for their marketing campaigns leading to a further expansion of their popularity.
