Digital Day #1
Kindergarten at MPES
Greetings!
Teachers will be monitoring e-mail communications throughout the day. Students have two days to complete this work. Please turn in assignments by Friday.
Reader's Workshop
Read your baggie book or library book with an adult.
After reading the story, tell someone about the characters, setting, and events in the story. Was there a problem in the story? How was it solved?
Other discussion items include:
*Did the setting change in the story?
*What happened in the beginning, middle, end?
*What would be another way for the story to end?
*What was your favorite part and why?
Have your child draw a picture and label their favorite part of the story. They will bring this to school tomorrow to show evidence that they read and discussed their story of choice.
Math
1. Play the following math shape game: Shape Game
2. Go on a shape hunt around your house with an adult. Identify objects in your house that are circles, square, triangles, and rectangles. Talk about how many sides and corners there are. Then, look for cones, cubes, cylinders and spheres. How are they like the circles, squares, and triangles? Do they roll, stack, or slide? Take a picture of the shapes that you found and email it to your child's teacher.
