Juniors!
Juniors and seniors considering enlisting in a military branch should take the ASVAB at LHS on November 30th. It measures aptitude and acquired skills, which predict future academic and occupational success. Unlike the ACT and SAT, ASVAB scores aid students in planning their next steps after high school. It covers ten areas, such as math, science, and mechanical comprehension, providing insight into the right career path.
The ASVAB is not just a military test but a comprehensive program that helps students identify potential occupations, learn about their skills and interests, and discover career-field entry pathways. The ASVAB is a career assessment tool that measures what you can learn, not just what you're good at. It can reveal hidden talents and help you identify career areas that best suit you.
Don't miss this chance to take the ASVAB test and discover your potential for a successful future in the military or another career field. You can register HERE! The deadline to register is November 15th.

Lovejoy Families and Community Members:
The Annual Lovejoy Letter Campaign for teachers and staff members is just around the corner! Many of you are familiar with this beloved tradition, but for those of you who are not, it is the time of year when we write appreciation letters for each of our teachers and staff members across the District. The letters do not have to be elaborate or lengthy. The goal is for people to write a note of thanks to show appreciation to their teachers, the staff and our administration. It is the opportunity for us to take the time to let each person who makes a difference for us throughout the school year know how much we value them. This year’s campaign will run from Monday, October 23rd to Thursday, November 9th.
Please place your letter in a clearly labeled envelope including the staff/teacher’s name, the campus and LLC (Lovejoy Letter Campaign). There will be collection boxes available at all campuses in the District. The last day for drop off is Thursday November 9th . Please feel free to share this message as we spread the word about the campaign. Let’s show our teachers and staff just how much we appreciate them! -PTSO

Robotics
Lovejoy Robotics competed at LHS this past Saturday and did amazing! LHS Teams all begin with the number 1082 and the letter designates the individual team. 1082X ended as Tournament Finalists and won the Innovate Award and 1082R won the Design Award, which is one of the highest engineering design awards offered! 1082E ended in the Top 5 for Qualification Rankings and 1082F achieved the highest skills score of all Lovejoy teams with a score of 217 (6th out of the entire tournament). We had a strong showing from many of our teams, especially our younger teams, and it was a great day where all the students worked hard to overcome many obstacles.
This tournament was hosted by our Lovejoy Robotics program, and 34 teams from all over North Texas came to compete alongside our 10 Lovejoy teams. Several dozen robotics parents and community members volunteered to make the tournament happen. We are #LovejoyProud of this Lovejoy Robotics Community! Lovejoy Robotics wants to give a special thank you to i2i, our Excellence Sponsor, and to Mrs. Forte', Mrs. Whitfill, Mr. Bobo, Mr. Jasina, Mr. David Baldwin and Mr. Schnurr for taking such a large role in making this tournament a big success.
