Weekly Highlights
*This month we are focusing on learning about apples, pumpkins, fall and colors. The
children made a Scarecrow glyph. This activity gave the children an opportunity to practice
listening and following directions.
* At center time we did some sewing. The children continued to learn about making
patterns during this activity and practiced their fine motor skills.
* We looked at wordless story books and each child made their own wordless story book. It turns out you don't need to know how to write to tell a great story!
Conversation Starters
* How many colors can you name?
* Which numbers are blue on the number grid and why?
* What is the Raven Game and how do you play it?
Poem of the Week
Leaves
Leaves on the pumpkin
Leaves on the tree
Leaves on the house
Leaves on me.
Leaves on the ground
Leaves on the street
Leaves on the car
Leaves on my feet.
Leaves on the wagon
Leaves on the bear
Leaves on the dog
Leaves everywhere!
Technology this week
Today the Kindergartners learned about how to responsibly use the iPads at CHS.
Your children did a beautiful job learning to hold, charge and work with their partner!
We recited the poem:
Fingers on bottom
Thumbs on top
Keep your hands on the iPads
So they don't drop!
Students then paired up for a drawing activity and their shared artwork was saved as the homescreen background for their iPad.
