Week of March 18th, 2019

Big picture

Welcome back to all our Southview students and families! We hope you have enjoyed a well deserved break and feel ready to jump into our learning together. There are many exciting trips and activities planned at Southview over the next month and we encourage you to mark the dates on your calendars! Queen's University is hosting a Math Games night for our families of Primary students (Grade 1-3) on April 2nd; Parent Council is hosting a Family Spring Fling dance on March 27th; and we will all "Light it up Blue" in support of Autism Awareness on April 2nd; May 1st is our Parent Council Carnival!

A big thanks to those who helped support our Little Caesar's Pizza Fundraiser with $960 going toward our yard enhancement project! That is awesome!

A special thank you to our School Advisory Council (Parent Council) for all their time, ideas, and initiatives that support our families and school. This is a fantastic group of parents that work together with the school team and parent community. We can't thank them enough! Our next SAC meeting is April 24th @6:30pm for anyone interested in joining us.

As we roll into spring, we look forward to continuing to support our students to be positive, productive citizens. Ongoing communication with your child's classroom teacher(s) helps students to know that we are all working together to best support them. Success can look different for each person. Celebrating small successes, as well as momentous milestones, is important in helping children reach their academic potential. We thank you for your partnership and welcome conversation to best support your child.

SPRING, we are ready for you!
