Trail Guide November 6th, 2023
November 6th, 2023
Liberty Creek Families,
As we bid farewell to the vibrant month of October, we look forward to the exciting possibilities that November holds. It's a month that brings together crucial elements of our educational journey, and we're thrilled to share these highlights with you.
In October, our school embarked on a path of growth and improvement. During our Learning Improvement Day, our dedicated staff engaged in professional development that was deeply focused on enhancing the learning experience for our students. We delved into the analysis of student data, crafted personalized learning plans to differentiate instruction, and celebrated a significant milestone by reaching our fundraising goal. This collective effort reaffirms our commitment to nurturing the best possible educational environment for our students.
November marks the continuation of our journey. It's a month when we come together for Parent-Teacher Conferences, a time to foster strong connections between parents and educators. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for you to engage with your child's teachers, discuss their progress, and set goals for their educational growth. Your active participation in this process is crucial, as it reinforces the partnership between home and school in our students' success.
Additionally, November brings the cherished Thanksgiving break, a time to pause, reflect, and express gratitude for the blessings in our lives. It's a moment to recharge and spend quality time with loved ones.
Let us embrace November with renewed enthusiasm and a sense of unity within our school community. We're excited to continue our journey of growth and learning together, and we look forward to seeing you at the Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Thank you for being an essential part of our school community, and welcome to the promising month of November.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Alsaker
THANK YOU PAPA MURPHY'S FOR SPONSORING OUR KID SHIRTS
VALET
Our valet service operates from 8:45 AM to 9 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. However, on Thursdays, it runs from 9:45 AM to 10 AM due to late start. Please note that our valet attendants begin assisting children promptly at 10 AM. Arriving after this time means you will need to park and personally accompany your child into the school, as they will be considered tardy. To ensure a smooth drop-off experience, we recommend arriving at 8:45 AM to avoid any inconvenience.

Attendance
Our goal this school year is to reduce chronic absences and to improve our attendance rates. “Chronically Absent” is defined as those students who miss more than 10% of the school year, or 18 absences (2 absences a month) total during the school year. It's important to address this issue with transparency, in collaboration with you as we recognize that various factors can contribute to this, such as health issues, family situations, or other circumstances. We assure you that we are here to support your child's education and well-being. We are actively working on implementing strategies and support systems to reduce chronic absences. Our aim is to create a nurturing and engaging educational environment where students feel valued and safe to learn and grow. Your support and involvement are key in achieving this goal. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us so that we can work together to ensure your child's success.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
Best,
Mitch Weller
Assistant Principal
2023-2024 Attendance Goal:
Less than 15% of our students will be considered chronically absent, i.e. over 85% of our students will be considered to have regular school attendance, an increase of approximately 6% from the 2022-2023 school year.

A Note From the Counselor
Anti-Bullying Lessons:
I will be in all classrooms this month and next, to teach our district-approved curriculum on Anti-Bullying (Second Step). Our priority is ensuring the safety of our students, and teaching them how to keep themselves safe!
Key concepts:
- Recognize bullying – 1) On purpose, 2) one-sided/unequal, 3) Over and over and, 4) you can’t stop it
- Discuss Assertiveness (Refuse)
- Who do you go to for help (Report)
- Types of bullying – Hurts your body, your feelings or your belongings, telling others not to play with you
- Difference between reporting and tattling
- Differentiate between mean, rude and bullying
- Discuss rules at LCE – rules help us feel safe and respected
- Kids have the power to Help Stop Bullying when they are a bystander. (we discuss what a bystander is and the responsibility of a bystander)
AT OUR SCHOOL WE ARE SAFE AND RESPECTFUL AND BULLYING IS NOT ALLOWED! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am always happy to hear from families 😊
Christmas Sharing:
As the holidays approach we are seeking out families that may need extra support, as well as families that may be able to help out with donations. Reach out to me if you know of someone in need, or if you are able to “give.” Stay tuned for more details to come on our Christmas Sharing program.
