5th grade families – see below a special message from Coppell Middle School West PTO
Hello Lee Families!
We are so happy that you're interested in joining PTO Board here at CMSW! There are volunteer opportunities to match just about anyone's interests and availability. Our West PTO does great work to support the students and staff year after year. Volunteering your time on the PTO is a great way to stay plugged into what's happening on campus. Also, your child is likely to think you're really cool for helping out! If you're interested in joining our Board, please fill out this google form. We kindly request you to fill out the interest form by April 11th. Our Parliamentarian, Urmi Subramanian, will contact you with more information soon after the deadline. We look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Ritu Sethi
PTO President, CMSW PTO
We have extended the deadline for the yearbook. Please consider ordering one for your child today. This year has been special and unique in so many ways, what better way to remember it than to order your very own book of memories. We have collaborated with a group of 5th-grade learners in order to design this year’s yearbook. They have been very creative and I hope those of you who purchase the book enjoy it.
Use the following link and ID to place your order. The deadline is April 5th, 2021.

Thank you so much for supporting our learners and school.

Mrs. Khan
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
READING & WRITING
Reading this week, we will continue our Fantasy Unit. We worked on an activity to identify our favorite character in our novel. In Language Arts, we worked on a creative writing activity about the life of a water drop.
MATH
In Math, started working on the area, perimeter, and volume. Learners performed multiple number talks on the subject and started discussing the metric system.
SCIENCE
In Science, began our unit on life science. We learned about the living and non-living ecosystems by using Gizmo labs.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In Social Studies, we began a two-week project studying events of the 20th century.
All elementary learners have access to free breakfast and lunch through the remainder of this school year.
Important Information
Student Zoom Sign In Update: Please make sure that learners log into ZOOM with their g.coppellisd.com accounts starting on Monday, August 31st. If you would like more information, please view this website.
Schoology: As we continue with virtual learning, Schoology is a very important tool during this time. We know some of our learners are using the app, but it is best for them to use the web-based version: https://schoology.coppellisd.com/
Learners need to make sure they are completing and submitting all of their work for each course since that is how we are taking attendance. In addition, although online learning is taking place at home, learners should be starting and finishing their work on their own as they would in-person at school.
Lee Specials Quarterly Newsletter: Our specials team puts out a newsletter each week. Check it out!
Box Tops: Did you know you can SCAN Box Tops and earn money for our school with items you already purchase for your home? Learn more about this quick and easy way to help our school.
