THE WEEKLY WITNESS
20 March 2015 | St. Mary Magdalen School | San Antonio, TX
OUR MAVERICK MISSION: EMPOWER STUDENTS AND OUR COMMUNITY TO WITNESS THE GOSPEL AND GROW IN EXCELLENCE THROUGH FAITH, ACADEMICS AND SERVICE.
NUESTRA MISION: EMPODERAR A LOS ALUMNOS Y A NUESTRA COMUNIDAD A SER TESTIGOS DEL EVANGELIO Y CRECER EN LA EXCELENCIA A TRAVÉS DE LA FÉ, LAS ACADÉMICAS Y EL SERVICIO.
Lent and Self-Discipline Continue
Still, one never truly masters Self-Discipline. There are always areas in our lives where we can more fully surrender to God. Prayer and self-examination are potent and effective means to identify those areas and enhance one's Self-Discipline.
Check out the article below on such surrender.

Witnessing The Gospel, Middle School Style
Congratulations To Ms. J., Our Maverick Teacher Of The Year!
The mission of SMMS focuses on empowering through pursuit of excellence in faith, academics, and service. Each of us here is a student of this mission and together we journey as we grow and become a community and are witnesses of the mission of Jesus, the Christ. The teacher of the year is an affirmation and a recognition of a teacher, who exemplifies our mission.
Ms. Paulina Justiniani, the teacher of year, is a leader not only in her classroom but shares this leadership in the community by meeting and collaborating with the faculty and staff after school hours and on weekends. Although she has a wealth of knowledge, she is open to learning from colleagues and her students.
She shares her faith quietly and is able to name her flaws and celebrate God’s graciousness. Ms. J is open to growth in her faith and as an educator. She seeks to release the potential in every student and in herself.
Embracing her cultural heritage, she takes initiative in using her skills to make improvements that need to be made in the school. Like our patroness, St. Mary Magdalen, she is audacious in imparting knowledge and in being of service.
