Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
WHAT IS MRS. B READING?
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.
I knew I needed to read this once I saw that the movie was coming out. I always like to read the book before the movie. I have to be honest, it took me awhile to get into this book. I persevered because I heard so many great things about it. The author is verbose (meaning she uses many words to say something simple). But once you get used to it, the words flow off the page. It's a mixture of self reliance, along with a love story, mixed in with a lot of suspense and mystery. You will fall in love with the main character and be so inspired that someone can live their life completely alone, yet be so fulfilled by her surroundings. It begs the question, what would we become if we were the only ones responsible for ourselves. Would we crumble or would we thrive?
