Summer Reading

It’s summer! And that means baseball games, barbecues, camping trips and reading. Yes, reading! Kids who don’t read over the summer risk losing up to three months of important skills they learned during the school year. This is especially true for kids from low-income families. Summer learning loss poses a real threat to a student’s academic success and ability to function later on in life. Once a child falls behind, they rarely catch up. Check out RIF’s fun-filled booklists, activities, tips and resources to keep kids reading and learning throughout the summer and all year long. http://www.rif.org/about-us/read-for-success/summer-learning

FirstBook eReading

We are beyond excited to offer our students the ability to download and use the Open eBooks app FOR FREE!! With this app, you and your child can access a library of THOUSANDS of popular and award-winning books. Students in grades K-5 will soon be bringing home a paper with a code and PIN on it along with directions on how to download and use the Open eBooks app. Each "family" (not individual students) should receive one code and PIN to be used by each student in your family.
