Dear Parents,

For our field trips on May 14th and 15th, parent volunteers are welcome. If any parent would like to attend the field trips, please be mindful that you must meet LSLA at the field trip destination. You are responsible for paying your own entrance along with any expenses. While on the field trip all students must remain with their class and designated chaperons. There will be times that you may not be with your child due to certain labs and hand-on-experiments that where paid and reserved for ahead of time. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Carrera at pcarrera@lonestartx.org

Words from Ms. Weaver

Hello LSLA Parents/Guardians,

It is hard to believe we are so close to the end of the school year. They say time really flies when you are having fun. I have more than enjoyed my time with your children. I want to thank each and every one of you for trusting us with your precious children. It has been an honor and privilege.

Our enrollment continues to increase and much of this is due to your testimony to friends and family. We truly appreciate you recommending us.

Third grade will be administered the STAAR on May 14th & May 15th. The final MAPS testing will be administered May 17th & May 18th for Kindergarten-Second Grade. Please make sure your child has plenty of rest, eats a good breakfast and is on time both days. Please do not schedule any doctor’s appointments or pick them up early. Third grade will take MAPS on May 24th & May 25th. Kindergarten-Second Grade will be on their annual field trips during STAAR testing. Third Grade will take their field trip May 22nd.

Please join us for a very important fundraiser on April 27th as we host our Spring Festival. The proceeds will be used for teacher supplies and a very import safety training on lockdowns and active shooters. Our goal is to raise $2500.00 for the June 4th training. Your support is truly appreciated as the safety and welfare of our staff and students is paramount. Donation may be made by purchasing tickets at the festival, or making donations in the form of cash, check or credit card. All donations are tax deductible.

Special note for parking the day of the Spring Festival: PLEASE PARK IN THE LEGAL CENTER FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE at the corner of Democracy & Tennyson, next to our school, it is the large round building.

Summer is closely approaching and we are offering a very attractive summer camp package at $200.00 a week from 7:00 am-6:00 pm. The camp includes a weekly field trip, theme weeks that include art, sports, robotics, and water-related activities. We will provide tutoring at no cost during the camp day for LSLA students. This is an awesome opportunity. Please pick up your registration packet at the front office or request a package via email with Mr. Soto.

Teacher Appreciation Week is just ahead. I want to thank you in advance for donating items and participating in showing our teachers how much we value them. I know it will be a very special week for them.

PTO meeting will be the first Tuesday in May at 5:00 pm followed by an on-campus uniform sale.

Kindergarten graduation caps and gowns need to be ordered, please contact Ms. Carrera. The ceremony will be May 22 from 6:00pm-8:00 pm, at The Frisco Senior Center 6670 Moore Street Frisco, Texas 75034.

Light refreshments will be served.

Please join us June 3rd from 2:00pm-4: 00 pm for a meet and greet with our new Lone Star Language Academy families. We will set carpools up and introduce new teachers.

Have a nice weekend & Go EAGLES,

Staci Weaver
