Malarkey
written by Keith Gray
A FEW WORDS ABOUT KEITH GRAY
Gray currently lives in Edinburgh with his partner.
ABOUT THE BOOK
John Malarkey, a strong-minded teenager starts a new school in Brook. After a few hours at new school he is accused of a theft he didn't commit. He is trying to sort out the problem but in the end, he gets himself into much deeper trouble.
John’s struggle to prove his innocence and smash the gang which is named Tailors and which is, in effect, controlling the school is recounted in gritty language.
The last chapter provides a dramatic conclusion to a powerful story line that is not afraid to confront the horrors of blackmail.
THIS SONG REMINDS ME ON THIS BOOK
When I was reading this book I felt depressed and a little bit scared. This song is very dark, sad, and pessimistic and it talks about education and freedom.
John Malarkey often said in the book that he would do anything to go out this school and one of the verses in this song is "We don't need no education, we don't need no thought control" which means in my opinion that a lot of high school students want to escape the school.
MOVIE ABOUT THIS BOOK
- Robert Pattinson (John Malarkey) - because of his cuteness and beauty
- Leonardo DiCaprio (Freddie Cloth) - because he looks like "the king of school"
- Emma Stone (Becky Chase) - because she is soft and determinded at the same time
- Justin Timberlake (Simon Penn) - if he would have round glasses he would look like geek
And if I could I would do this movie on more comedy way because I didn't like the darkness of the book.
MY OPINION ON THIS BOOK
If I am honest I am not sure if I would read it again. I think that we learn a lot about unimportant things like the weather or something.
But after all I would recommend it to those who like to read crime or dangerous books.
