WMHS Student Weekly Information
April 24 - April 28
From the Principal's Desk
Zebra Nation,
I hope that you had a nice weekend! The last full week of April is here. We are on the final stretch run now, sprinting down hill. We got this!
As the weather begins to heat up this spring, the building tends to heat up as well.... Our scholars need to make good choices during this winter to spring transition - finish up this 4th Quarter and School Year on a positive note! Fighting / Violence will not be tolerated. WMHS adults having to put themselves into harms way to stop students from fighting and possibly being injured themselves will not be tolerated. Scholars, please know that if you choose to fight in school, the consequences will be swift, the student code of conduct will be followed to the max (suspension), tickets will be issued, and repeat fighters may be sent to a disciplinary hearing which could result in you being placed online for your learning. Also, participation in all extra-curricular events (Athletics, Clubs, Field Trips, Prom, Graduation, etc.) will be denied to those scholars that choose to fight in school. Make good choices..... don't fight. Let's all work together to keep WMHS a safe place for both staff and students.
#StrongerTogether
Hall Passes: unless you have a Dr. note on file or have an immediate emergency, we have moved our system to an "am pass", and a "pm pass". These 2 passes along with being able to use the restroom at lunch affords our scholars 3 official restroom times a day. 4th Hour is a 'no pass time' as students can use the restroom during their lunch. This will help us maintain safety and order during our lunch times, keep our transitions smooth, and students where they are supposed to be under adult supervision.
Our WMHS performances of 'Little Shop of Horrors' are April 27-29 at 7:00pm each evening in our Stockmeyer Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased online at showtix4u.com or a 1/2 hour before each show at the box office in Stockmeyer. Hope that you can make it! Have a question? Please reach out to our Drama Director/ELA Teacher, Ms. Katie Sullivan at sullivank@wwcsd.net

Congratulations to Sofia Figueroa who broke the Wayne Memorial 800 record by 0.21 seconds with a time of 2:24.86 at our league meet versus Livonia Franklin this past Wednesday. Great job Sofia!! The athletic department started using Go Fan this past week for our home soccer games. It was a great success and as a reminder we will be going to full time digital ticketing starting next fall. The link for Wayne Memorial tickets is https://gofan.co/app/school/MI10119 You can also pay at the gate with your credit/debit card. The Boys Varsity Golf team kicked off the golf season at the KLAA Pre Season event this past Thursday at Kensington Valley.
