BFH Falcons View
December 5 to 9, 2022
Principal's Message
Dear Falcon students and families,
I hope the start of December finds you well and enjoying days leading up to and preparing for the holiday season. This past week we have had some incredible work done by our students and staff, beginning with the amazing production of "Holder Posey" by our Falcon Drama students. I attended both cast shows and our students were fantastic! The way they navigated the hilarious characters and their various asides throughout the melodrama was something to be extremely proud of! Also ending this past week was our "Falcons of Distinction (FOD)" Movember initiative. This year's fundraiser by students and staff raised funds towards raising awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health. It's great to see our students engaged in their passions at such a high level, and using their interests and talents to give back to their community.
We have another action packed week ahead of us, with our Basketball teams beginning their seasons and our second Drama production, "CLUE on Stage", beginning on Thursday with dress rehearsal. I'm also excited to announce that concert band will be hosting our "Falcon's Winter Winds" concert on Friday, December 9, 2022. ($10 at the door). Our Senior High Facey Leadership Initiative will also be kicking off our "Falcon Food Bank Drive" this week with our Block one class challenge.
As in the last few weeks, I want to point out that our amazing School Council has set up an online staff recognition form once again this year. It will be featured on our newsletter and website moving forward. This recognition form allows students and parents the opportunity to communicate their appreciation for staff at Bev Facey. There are lots of great things going on at Bev Facey, and our staff love to hear when we are making a positive difference in your child's lives. If you are interested in filling out the form for a staff member or members, please click on the button below my message.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Our Counselling team has firmed up some one on one Post Secondary Sessions in the next couple of weeks for some of our students.

Post Secondary Planning
As we navigate the start of a new school year, we are still making an intensified effort to touch base with each of our students around their plans for their future after high school. It is our pleasure to work along side you and your student this coming year.
Nobody knows your child better than you do. As a parent your insight into your child is a valuable resource. The more we understand about your child’s path forward, the more effectively we can support their needs.
We appreciated your participation in our short survey, these past few weeks. This survey helps us to develop a support plan for our students moving forward as we meet with them throughout this year.
If you missed submitting your responses in the survey, please don't hesitate to contact the counselling team.
Kindly,
Admin and Counselling
