END OF MARKING PERIOD
Next Friday, January 15th, marks the end of the second marking period and first semester of the 2015-16 school year. Report cards will be distributed Friday, January 22nd.
MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY
We do not have school Monday, January 18th. The school offices will also be closed.
FLAMES FRENZY – SATURDAY, JANUARY 23RD
Our “Flames Frenzy” basketball games will be held Saturday, January 23rd. We will be hosting Cumberland Valley Christian School in middle school and varsity games. Check the athletic schedule for game times, or see our athletic tab on our website, www.shalomca.com.
Come and enjoy the junior class pancake breakfast fundraiser, and stay for the games! (See announcement below for breakfast details.)
Senior appreciation: We will be recognizing our senior athletes and their parents at the beginning of each of the varsity games.
“Flames Frenzy” t-shirts: Support the teams by purchasing our 2016 Flames Frenzy t-shirts! They are available in youth and adult sizes, long and short sleeves. Below is a link to download an order form. *Orders, with payment, are due next Friday, January 15th, and will be filled Friday, January 22nd. *If you wish to charge the order to your FACTS account, please indicate that on the order form.

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS
Lost and found items from the first semester will be on display the week of January 19th in the hallway outside of the high school office. Saturday, January 23rd is the last date to claim your items.
PROSPECTIVE PARENT OPEN HOUSE DATES
We are offering two open house dates for prospective families in January. The first one is Tuesday, January 26th from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, and the second one is Sunday, January 31st, from 2:00-5:00 PM. Families will have the opportunity to tour the school, meet administrators, and find out about scholarship opportunities. They may come and go as suits their schedule. Please share this information with a family you know who might be interested in Shalom.
If you have an open house sign from last year and would like stickers with this year's dates, or if you would like to put a sign in your yard advertising our open house dates, please contact the school. Stickers and signs will be ready soon!
HEALTH CARE INFORMATION PROGRAM THROUGH SUMMIT HEALTH
Summit Health offers an HCI program for students interested in exploring the medical field. We have had several students in this program and it has proven to be a wonderful opportunity. Below is information concerning the information and application process. The coordinator usually comes to school to talk with students as well.
The application process is still online at www.summithealth.org/educationresources. Once on this page students click on the high school student page and then scroll down to the H.C.I. Program. The application and forms to download with directions to the application process are there.
Students and parents have an opportunity to learn about the program by attending one of the information meetings listed below:
