From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
What a week! it is good to be back in school and seeing all the students and families after a long break. I want to thank all the families for the week we had; the staggered start, the whole school field trip, and all the lunch menu changes.
I want to give a giant shout out to all the students that participated in the MQSCA choir that led the singing at the All Seton Mass. They all represented our school amazingly. Mrs. Satchell did an amazing job getting them ready and leading them. Archbishop Listecki gave our choir a shout out at the end of mass. Chloe in 8th grade read three of the prayers of the faithful. MQSCA was wll represented in front of the whole network! In addition, our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students had the opportunity to tour Marquette's campus and ask college students questions. Their behavior was top notch and asked well articulated questions!
This next week teachers will be sharing the exact time and location of the mass each class will be assigned to for Catholic Schools Week. Our goal is to have 100% of our school families participate in going to mass to represent our school to the parishes of MQSCA. If you have multiple children, please choose a mass that meets the needs of your family best, but encourage all your children to take a role in greeting parishioners and participating in the mass. In addition, we will be looking for certain grade levels to lead the mass as readers, and families to bring up the gifts.
Mother of Perpetual Help has installed two screens in the church. This will be a blessing for our school for all school parent meetings and to display parts of the mass,. We are excited for this edition to the church space. This week, 4th grade leads us in mass!
Happy New Year!
In Christ-
Mr. Lee

Virtue of the Week: Aware
Feast Day:
Scripture of the Week:
"Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. I am a sojourner on the earth; hide not your commandments from me!" Psalm 119:18-19
Prayer of the Week:
The Examen: A Daily Prayer
St. Ignatius Loyola's Examen is an opportunity for peaceful daily reflective prayer. It invites us to find the movement of God in all the people and events of our day. The Examen is simply a set of introspective prompts for you to follow or adapt to your own character and spirit.
Begin with a pause and a slow, deep breath or two; become aware that you are in the presence of the Holy.
Thanksgiving
What am I especially grateful for in the past day . . .
The gift of another day...
The love and support I have received...
The courage I have mustered...
An event that took place today...
Petition
I am about to review my day; I ask for the light to know God and to know myself as God sees me.
Review
Where have I felt true joy today?
What has troubled me today?
What has challenged me today?
Where and when did I pause today?
Have I noticed God's presence in any of this?
Response
In light of my review, what is my response to the God of my life?
A Look Ahead
As I look ahead, what comes to mind?
With what spirit do I want to enter tomorrow?
Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Bryanna Hill if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
Volunteers Needed
Here is the volunteer form. Please take a moment to fill it out if you have not yet. We still have many spaces available to help volunteer at different event in our school through out the year.
I have some community members that have already showed interest in supporting the school for a beer and wine tasting fundraising effort. We have an opportunity to make this one night be an opportunity to raise money for our school for a playground and much needed fencing. Please consider volunteering for this event so we can start the planning process.
Safety in the Parking Lot for drop off and pick up
Please make sure that you follow the MQSCA parking lot rules. We have a 5 mph speed limit in the parking lot.
Here are a couple of things to consider:
- You never know when a child will step out from a car, and our littlest friends often are hid by the car.
- Your time is not more valuable than anyone else's and we all run late, however that cannot be a reason to speed through the parking lot.
- Please follow the morning drop off and afternoon pick up procedures.
- Park in a designated parking spot when picking up. Lining up in the aisles, or along building blocking traffic flow and preventing cars to exit in a timely fashion.
