Principal's Message
Tomorrow is Fine Arts Day. There are still classrooms in need of volunteer help if you have a have time on Friday for any length of time. Please sign up using the following link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4daeaf22a7f94-sequoias.
To make Fine Arts Day even more fun and colorful, student council has declared it "Color Day". Students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt (or head to toe) in the color assigned for their grade level. We will try to take a whole school picture to show our colorful spirit!
Here is the grade level color break down:
Kindergarten - Orange (think Walkathon shirts)
1st grade: Light Blue
2nd - Purple
3rd - Yellow
4th - Kiwi Green (think class tshirts)
5th - Red
6th - Royal/Dark Blue
Several parents have asked about staffing and teacher requests for next year. We are still confirming all of our staff members for the 2019-2020 school year and I will update you as soon as possible. Similar to last year, we will not be doing specific teacher requests as this makes it very difficult to balance classrooms appropriately. However, Learning Preference Forms will be out for a short time before the end of the year. Learning Preference Forms are meant to let us know what kind of learning and/or social considerations we should take into account for your child when creating classrooms for next year. Please keep an eye out in our next couple Sequoia Newsletters for staffing and Learning Preference Forms information.

Sequoia's First Color Run
In order to make this event a success, we could use a few volunteers to set up, throw color and help around the track area. If you are available in the afternoon on May 15th, click the link below to sign up! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0D49AEA72CA0F58-sequoia
A few reminders:
- If your child goes to after care, a change of clothes is recommended.
- The color is not meant to stain, but it may take a couple washes to come out of clothes completely.
- There is a No Color Lane for those students who do not wish to run through the color stations.
Thank you to the Healthy Kid Committee for planning and executing this event and to SPC for sponsoring our Sequoia Color Run.
