GSACRD Voice
In early parenthood, it’s common to hear the phrases, “Blink and you’ll miss it!” “They grow up so fast,” “It seems like yesterday they were just so little.” Even though we know our kids are going to grow up, it can still feel overwhelming and scary as your child becomes more and more independent as they enter adolescence. This doesn’t mean that your role as a parent becomes any less important. Check out the infographic below, or follow the link to Big Life Journal to learn more about tips when your parent role starts to shift.
Creative Writing Club
If you're interested in creative writing, join Marina in the library! All grade levels are welcome! You can see Marina, or email her at mcasavant@gsacrd.ab.ca for more information.

Beautiful bits of the bible
Revelation 21:21–23, NIV
The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass. I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
The Doug - It's Easy Not To Kill Someone - First Reading
St. Paul writes to the Romans about the ten commandments sitting UNDER the greatest commandment - to love your neighbour as yourself. But what's easier? I mean, how hard is it not to lie or cheat or steal or kill? But how hard is it to love someone who lies and cheats and steals and kills? Much, much harder.
Electronic/Cellular Device Policy Reminder
As we begin the new school year, all families are reminded of our personal electronic device policy:
· Students may use their personal devices during passing periods and/or their lunch period. Students shall not access personal devices during instructional time unless instructed by their teacher.
Personal electronic devices include, but are not limited to, cell phones, earbuds/headphones, tablets, and smartwatches. Division-issued devices shall be used at the teacher’s discretion during instructional time. Personal headphones or earbuds may be used, only when instructed, under staff direction to support classroom instruction.
We thank you in advance for your partnership. It is our expectation that students and staff value and prioritize instructional time. This includes the elimination of distractions, including personal electronic devices. Our commitment to reinforcing expectations at home and at school will promote success and enhance academic engagement for students.
