PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

The school year is about 1/2 over and we will be doing formal assessments during the later part of February as Trimester 2 ends on March 4, with report cards coming home on March 17th. Teachers do formative assessments on a weekly basis to continually check in on student progress toward the learning target/goal. If you have questions on how your child is progressing, don't hesitate to reach out. We all need to continue our efforts to communicate and work together as a team to educate the children at Abrams Elementary.

This week we received a sled donation, 4 saucers. The kids are so grateful and excited to use these. Thanks Kristi Wise!

NOTES FROM THE OFFICE

Calling all 4k Students! Do you have a child who will be 4 by September 1, 2022? If so, they would be eligilbe for 4 year old kindergarten in the fall.

4K Registration for the 2022-23 School Year:

Registration will take place on Thursday, February 10th, at Abrams Elementary or Tuesday, February 15th, at Oconto Falls Elementary from 4:00- 6:30 PM. You can register at either location. To register your child you will need to bring your child's birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency such as a utitlity bill or rental agreement. If Open Enrolling into district you will need to bring proof of open enrollment application.

This year due to COVID, we are only going to allow one parent and no children to attend registration. You only need to attend one of the dates noted above.

Open Enrollment: This year’s Open Enrollment application period will take place between February 7th and April 29th. The Wisconsin Open Enrollment program allows children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they live. Early and late applications will not be accepted. Parents may apply online at https://dpi.wi.gov/oe If you do not have access to a computer, call or stop in at the district office.

If your child is currently attending under Open Enrollment, it is not necessary to complete an application form; your child will remain an active student through 12th grade.

Paws Winners for January

Each month, staff members nominate students who are always having a positive attitude, acting safely, working hard, and showing respect. Students who are nominated receive an award. Once a month our entire school gathers together in the gym for announcements and acknowledgement of our Positive Award Winners.
