Monday March 13th
- We love home-made, hand-made costumes - even if it's just a hat and a sign.
- It's book characters we are looking for. Movie characters are OK as long as they have come from a book originally.
- If you dress up as a lesser known book character (we love this by the way) then bring the book into school on the day and carry it around so we can see how much you look like the character.
- It's not compulsory, but it's SO much fun!
- You can head to our Peak School Library Pinterest page for some great costume ideas!
Tuesday March 14th
Your child(ren) will come home with order forms for books on the day which you can then order and they will be signed by the author and then delivered back to the school for your children to pick up after his visit.
Wednesday March 15th
Please remember to send in money with your child to purchase a book. We recommend HKD100, but the amount you send in is discretionary. A paperback chapter book averages at about HKD 50-60 and larger hardback books can cost up to HKD 150-170. Fields usually have a selection of both. The sale will be on after school so parents are welcome to come and browse or purchase at pick-up on Wednesday.
Library Open House Coffee Morning
This year, we are opening our doors to our community to come and have a cup of coffee or tea, see the Library space, and have a browse through our collection. If you have any thoughts about what your children like to read, suggestions about books you love (or books you wished your kids loved), or questions on how to inspire your kids to read we would love to see you. Or perhaps you are just curious to see the Library ... we are very happy to share! Come and join us.
8:45 - 10am Wednesday 15th March
We warmly welcome you into your Library!
Thursday March 16th
His books will be available to purchase on the days of his visit while stocks last, and then will be signed by the author. We will provide information on which titles and what price next week.
Information about Chris the author and his books can be found HERE.
Friday March 17th
Library Activities
Competitions
Apart from those activities, we will have a number of competitions that might take a bit of time and effort at home and therefore will be rewarded with prizes. Here are the competitions for this year:
Best Costume
Will it be a Person? Will it be an Animal? Vegetable? Or just an Object?
So many options ...
Poetry Writing
Cover Art
Extreme Reading
It doesn't have to be dangerous - we'd rather that you did not risk your life - but it does need to be unique. It could be something you like to do or somewhere you like to be. Where will you be caught reading?
Story Sack
This is such a fabulous one to judge and we are endlessly inspired by the entries that we receive.
Book Bag Design
Our Peak School Library Bag needs an overhaul and we are asking our students to make their very best effort to design a new bag! The image should be clearly drawn in black and white, represent the Library, have Peak School in the design, with room for a name box, . The winner will have the bag printed, and go down in Peak School posterity.
