First Major battle of the civil War

July 21, 1861, The union and confederate armies clashed. It began with 35,000 Union troops marched to capital of Washington D.C to strike the confederate of 20,000 along a small river known as Bull Run.

General Irvin McDowell, Commander of the union. Insisted to attack the confederate forces and end it completely.Although the confederate tried to attack on the union but it backfired on them.
