BTSD Grade Level Snapshot
Parents,
Does your child remember what they learned last year? Test them out by doing one of the fun activities from a previous grade.
Grade K:
Ask some rapid fire questions that deal with adding & subtracting within 5.
Grade 1:
Draw a pretend pizza. Have your child cut it into four equal shares.
Grade 2:
Draw a pretend pizza. Have your child cut it into three equal shares. See if they can describe it to you as cut into "thirds".
Grade 3:
Draw a pretend pizza. Have your child cut it into four equal shares. See if you can get them to tell you that the area of one of the pieces is 1/4 of the area of the shape.
Grade 4:
Ask your child where the line of symmetry would be on your face.
Grade 5:
See if your child can tell you how many centimeters are in 5 meters. (500)
Grade 6:
Pull out a piece of Tupperware. Ask your child what the volume is. (l x w x h)
Grade 7:
Draw a triangle & ask your child if it is Scalene, Isosceles or an equilateral triangle.
Grade 8:
Ask if they could give you a Pythagorean Triple (scroll down).
