DFES Centennial Celebration
You are invited to the upcoming DFES Centennial Celebration on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 6:00 PM. All fifth graders will be performing an original song written about the history of our school and much more! Attached to this email is the formal invitation. Your RSVP is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to seeing you at this landmark event!
In keeping with our annual tradition, DFES will sponsor a Mitten Tree in our cafeteria lobby. The tree will be decorated by students, staff and community members who bring in new items, such as hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, socks, etc. These items will be donated to local families in need of extra warmth this winter. Donations will be accepted from November 26-December 19. Please help to warm the hearts of families in our area during the cold weather months ahead!
Reading Goals Celebration
Tomorrow, students should bring their completed reading goal sheets for November/December and a favorite snack and drink. They will share their reading successes and cheer on each other! We will also share short, impromptu book talks and inspire each other to read new books for the month of December and the upcoming new year!
