Spring is in the Air at New Prospect
Hello Panther Parents,
Who is excited about Spring? I know I am!
“Spring is the season of new beginnings. Fresh buds bloom, animals awaken, and the earth seems to come to life again.”
I remember last year at this time, it was not feeling much like the joyous spring described. We were locking down, going to universal remote learning and we were all stressed and all scared…but this year is different.
This spring, we can celebrate new beginnings where we come to life again! Just last week, we had a great 1st annual Panthers, Pages & PJs where we celebrated our love of reading! We are also planning things like STEAM Day & Field Day for upcoming months. Of course, all these events look a little different, but they are happening, and we are spring forward into better times!
Thanks for your never-ending support!

Remote Learning Days in March & April
Dear Parents and Community Members,
As part of our efforts to provide a safe school environment for our students and community at large, we have been advocating for our personnel to be included in the eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine. Fortunately, Fulton County Schools (FCS) has continued to partner with the Fulton County Board of Health (FCBOH) to support COVID-19 vaccination of district personnel, including two “Super Saturday” clinics held in January at Mercedes Benz Stadium, for those meeting the criteria in Phase 1A+.
You may have noted, as of March 8, all K-12 employees will now be eligible and cleared to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. FCS is again partnering with FCBOH to offer vaccinations to all employees who choose to have the vaccine. “Project Vaccinate 2021” will happen over the course of two weeks. The first dose will be offered to employees March 22-27. The second dose will be offered April 12-17.
During the span of these two weeks, school-based personnel will rotate through the vaccination days by level/zone. For the district to efficiently cycle all employees through the vaccination process, schools (per level) will adhere to the following remote learning/work schedule with school administration for teaching staff.
Given the complexities of coordinating an event of this scale and the time it will take to administer vaccines to so many employees, we anticipate our instructional delivery model will be impacted. All schools in the district will then switch to remote learning for part of these vaccine weeks. FCS will remain in remote the week after spring break to allow the vaccines to be given and to guard against a post spring break surge. The full schedule can be found below.
We understand switching to remote learning for certain days requires planning, and we are providing these dates as early as possible so families can plan accordingly. Principals will follow up directly with more guidance for each school’s plans and how these will impact your student’s instruction.
Remote Learning Schedule for Staff Vaccination Dates

Middle Schools-March 24, 25

Thank you for helping to keep our colleagues, your students, and our workplace safe, and for your commitment and partnership with Fulton County Schools.

Diversity and Inclusion Bulletin Board
India is widely famous for having the highest cultural diversity in the World. It is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with a kaleidoscopic variety and rich cultural heritage. It has achieved all-round socio-economic progress since its Independence on August 15th, 1947. Since ancient times India has been termed as Bharath (Sanskrit original name). The name ‘India’ is derived from the name of the River Indus. The Aryan worshippers referred to the river Indus as the 'Sindhu'. The Persian invaders converted it into Hindu. The name 'Hindustan' combines Sindhu and Hindu and thus refers to the land of the Hindus.
India is a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic country. The Constitution of India came into force on 26th January 1950, thereby becoming a Republic country - that is of the people, for the people and by the people. It is Secular as on its knees breathe the happy disciples of the different religions of the world. The four religions born in India, namely - Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism, are followed by 25% of the world’s population. There are 28 States and 8 Union Territories in India. It is a huge and beautiful land full of wonders. The natural boundaries of the country, from the Himalayas on the North to the Indian Ocean on the South, Desert of Thar on the West to the Snowy mountains of Sikkim on the East, it is a country full of beautiful landscapes and people. These geographical variations in India cause different weathers throughout the year. The oceans bathing their shores on three sides made India a Peninsula.
Apart from Medicine, Astrology and Astronomy, India has also produced many prominent personalities in the fields of Literature (Rabindranath Tagore, Premchand), Science (Raman CV, Dr. Abdul Kalam) and Mathematics (Aryabhatta - who discovered '0', Srinivasa Ramanujan - who discovered 'Infinity', Shakuntala Devi - World Record holder as Human Computer). Agriculture is the main basis of the Indian economy. Our fields are fed by mighty rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra, Godavari, Narmada, Krishna and Kaveri. Hence, India is also known as the "Land of Rivers". It is rich in languages and its dialects. 22 languages constitutionally enjoy official language status, but Hindi is recognized as the lingua franca of the nation. As it is large enough and independent politically and geographically, it is also called as a Sub-continent.
'Unity in Diversity' is the main slogan of the country. It is known for diversity in the regions, languages, food, clothing, festivals, heritage, culture, tradition; diversity in everything it represents.
Learning Modality Commitment – Last Nine Weeks of School Year
No action is needed if parents are satisfied with their child’s current learning environment, and only those who wish to change should email Amy Lemons between March 1-12. The student’s learning group will remain the same as it stood on March 1, unless you email Mrs. Lemons.
