The Storm Forecast- Testing edition
Week of May 3, 2021
Dear parents, guardians, and students,
It is finally May, and with that comes a flurry of activity.
This week we thank all of the teachers and staff for all that they do every day as we celebrate Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week. We encourage you to reach out to anyone at San Jose Prep that has made a difference in your student's life and let them know how much you appreciate them- they certainly don't hear it often or enough! I am grateful for everyone who makes every day happen here at Prep- from our incredibly hard working teachers, uor Student Services team, our administration, office staff, security staff, cafeteria staff, maintenance staff- it takes everyone to make things happen and take care of our kids.
We also ramp up testing this week, with AP exams and state exams going into full gear. Below you will find a full schedule by date and grade level to help you stay organized.
For parents of Seniors, the emotions are intensifying as we get closer and closer to graduation. This is both an exciting and an emotional time for our Seniors and their parents.
And finally...the beginning of summer.
Let's welcome May and it's whirlwind of happenings with energy and motivation. There have been a lot of challenges in our world over the past year, but I believe in our students and our staff and I know that we will have a fantastic last month of school.

If your child feels sick or if someone in your home has been sick, PLEASE KEEP YOUR STUDENT HOME
Upcoming assessments
Please help your student do their best by ensuring that they are getting enough sleep and nutritious meals. We also want you to make sure that your student is at school on time on their testing dates- once testing has started, tardy students may not enter the testing room.
On the days where there are 6th-10th grade school wide assessments, 11th and 12th graders will go to study hall holding rooms.
If you are planning to check your student out after testing is over, you will need to come into the front office to check them out. Please do not forget to bring your ID for verification.
Donations for testing
- peppermints
- granola bars
- NutriGrain bars
- fruit snacks
- juice boxes
Thank you!
Parking in adjacent properties
Please remember that the properties adjacent to San Jose are private property. Parents should not be dropping off or picking up students on these properties- it has become a problem severe enough that property managers are on the verge of contacting JSO.
Please follow drop off/pick up protocols and go through the car line.
We also ask that you drive safely while near and on campus. We've had students nearly hit by parent cars speeding onto or out of the property as well as on the adjoining properties or by parents dropping off students in non-designated areas.
Please help us keep your children safe. You may think you are saving a few minutes, but think about safety- you don't want your child to be hurt.
There are still a few yearbooks left! Buy them before they're gone!
