The Burruss Blast

A Note from Your Principal

As I write this, it is thundering and lightning outside on Friday the 13th with a Harvest Moon on the night of the Great Burruss Campout. We made the most of our time tonight and brought our Screen on the Green inside and enjoyed Pets 2 in the cafeteria with yummy snacks, pizza, fried chicken, and lots of sugary treats. Thank you to all of the volunteers who make events like these a huge success, no matter the weather! There are several families sleeping in the gym tonight, which is its own adventure to sleep in the school!

Next week is Conference Week. Please make sure that you have confirmed your time with your child's teacher--we are looking forward to having productive conversations with you about how to best support your child this year. Students dismiss at 1:15 each day next week.

The Book Fair started today! Children will have the opportunity to shop all week next week, and the event will stay open until 4pm each afternoon for families to shop as well.

Fall Break is 9/23-9/27 and all Marietta City Schools are closed. Other important dates are noted below! An October calendar will come home next week in Burruss Express, so check your child's backpack for that important envelope.

We have so many exciting things ahead of us this year. I can't wait to watch your students grow and bloom! Thank you for your support and for believing in Burruss. We are better because you are here!

Please reach out to me anytime with questions or concerns!

Kind regards,

Dr. Johnson
