New Remote Learning Schedule
Starting Monday, August 31, student schedules will change in order to meet the needs of both in person and virtual learners. All teachers will have a NEW virtual learning schedule on their CANVAS page with zoom times and links. Students who are at home are invited to have face to face time with their core teachers at least twice a week on assigned days. Students in Band, Orchestra, Art and Music will also have assigned times to meet with their teachers and will be divided by instrument to provide more focused instruction.
In order to make these times meaningful and engaging, students will need to watch the recorded lessons on their teacher’s web-page and work on the appropriate assignment(s) before logging into their live class. Live classes will be a continuation of the recorded lesson where students will engage in meaningful discussions, chats, showing examples, notebooks and products, live practice, sharing their work, participating in high level thinking, and asking questions if needed.
In person learners will follow this new schedule during the week of August 31 to September 4 except for the day they are on campus for their alphabetical ramp up day.

Nurse Kendall Update
From Conroe ISD Roadmap to Reopening:
DAILY CLINIC OPERATION
Nurse and Principal will determine separate areas for well and sick student visits. (Collins has 2 separate clinic areas)
Physical distancing in the clinic area will be implemented as space allows.
Any person entering for a sick visit will have his or her temperature taken.
All persons will wash/sanitize hands upon entry/exit of the clinic area.
Clinic staff will wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the task.
To minimize loss of instruction time and unnecessary exposure to illness, well students will remain in class as much as possible.
Considerations for classroom-based care to well students by nurse or trained designated personnel may include scheduled medication administration and minor first aid.
Teachers are encouraged to contact the school clinic prior to sending students.
Any student with a temperature greater than or equal to 100°F and/or showing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 will be masked as developmentally appropriate, isolated, and the parent/guardian notified for pick up.
All multi-use equipment will be sanitized between uses.
Any medications used to treat symptoms consistent with COVID-19 such as cough, shortness of breath, headache, sore throat, and body aches will not be administered without a current healthcare provider’s note. This would include metered dose inhalers, cough and cold medications, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen. At this time, nebulized medications will not be administered during the school day.
Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to contact their student’s healthcare provider to obtain metered dose inhalers rather than nebulizer medications.
Library
I hope everyone has had a chance to visit the library canvas course. It explains the procedures for checking out and returning books. Once the orientation section is complete other modules will open up for students to explore as they wish. All library assignments are optional and meant for extension and fun. Check back weekly to see what gets added. Feel free to message Mrs. Willingham through Canvas or regular email if you have any library related questions. Happy reading!
