PTO NEWS.......
Wellness Bingo Results
Over 51% of our Face-to-Face learners and 17% of our virtual learners participated in our Wellness Bingo! This shows fantastic engagement and shows how excited our Blue Ash students are for making healthy choices! (Any virtual students who have not yet picked up their stress balls, they are still available at the Virtual Commons for pick up this week!)
The race was tight in a number of classrooms! The winning classrooms will be given the Healthiest Owl Trophy to showcase in their classroom. Note: If your classroom did not win this year, this trophy will rotate each year so stay tuned next year for your chance to compete and win!
Drum roll....
Kindergarten: Mrs. Shewbridge's class
1st Grade: Mrs. Wellage's class
2nd Grade: Mr. Herzog's class
3rd Grade: Mrs. Kohl's classroom pulled it through by a hair!
4th Grade: Ms. McIlwain's classroom! It was a tie with Mr. Korn's classroom! With an equal number of students participating in both classrooms, Ms. McIlwain's classroom won the tiebreaker with most # of squares filled in. Great job all around!
Congratulations to all participating students for making so many healthy choices last week! I'm so proud! Thank you again to the Maple Dale Wellness team and specifically Lily Ning for putting this great wellness bingo together!

Read - A - Thon
NEW for 2021!!!! The BAE PTO is announcing our first ever Read-A-Thon! This fun event will be taking place between Monday, May 3rd and Friday, May 14th.This is a school wide event so everyone may participate.including our virtual students!! It is also our biggest fundraiser for this year and we need your help! Without Haunted Fest, which is usually our biggest fundraiser for the PTO, we haven't been able to put a lot of money towards all those amazing educational activities and programs we usually fund for BAE. So we're getting creative this year.
We will have 6 winners. 3 students will be awarded for most money raised, and 3 students will be awarded for most minutes read. Prizes include: 2 $50 Scholastic gift certificates, 2 $25 Scholastic gift certificates, and 2 $15 Scholastic gift certificates.
So crack open those books, find your favorite bookmark, and start reading! To be eligible for prizes all donations (including PayPal) must be turned in by the end of the school day Friday, May 14th.
How it works
1. Get out there and get sponsors! Collect money as you go! Have the adults in your life take the pledge sheet to work and ask their employer to match the contributions you collect. This doubles the amount you raise.
2. Send out an email to all your friends and family. This can include long distance relatives since they can easily donate via our Pay Pal link https://tinyurl.com/5cvx35vw. If paying with PayPal, please include the student’s name in the “Add a note” field on the paypal page. 3. Start reading!!! Begin keeping track of all reading you do. It can be at home, in the car on the way to school, at school, wherever. Record the date, title of your reading, length of time read, and then have a parent initial your log. Keep a log of all minutes read for the duration of the Read-a-thon (Monday, May 3rd- Friday, May 14th). For our younger students, having a parent read to the student can still be counted towards the total minutes read. 4. Put your pledge form, Reading log, and all donations in an envelope and return it to your teacher by Friday, May 14th. Make sure checks are written to “Blue Ash Elementary PTO”
Remember…
Do not go door-to-door to strangers’ houses, and don’t solicit from people you don’t know. Donations may be made by cash, check to “Blue Ash Elementary PTO” or https://tinyurl.com/5cvx35vw
Look for packets to come home with F2F students!
****Virtual students that wish to participate can print out a copy of the Reading Log and Pledge Form and do a no-contact drop off of completed reading log, pledge form, and any donations at this address: 5167 Muirwoods Ct Blue Ash, 45242. Please have everything in an envelope delivered no later than Friday, May 14th.

The Power of PTO
At Blue Ash Elementary we are blessed with great staff, great students, and great families. But behind every truly successful school is a strong Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
So many of the activities, supports, events, and celebrations that we enjoy at BAE are because we have an involved and supportive PTO. This organization is led by a group of parent volunteers that get together with Mrs. Combs to plan and implement ways to enrich the school experience for everyone. Whether it is our Haunted Festival, Active Aves, Cultural Celebrations, or other school community gatherings, our PTO makes it possible....and we have a lot of fun in the process!
Please review the information below and consider being a part of our PTO leadership team.

Open PTO Chair Positions
BAE PTO has open Chair Positions and we need your help!
These always anticipated and beloved events can only happen with the planning and support of our volunteers. Please volunteer to help organize an exciting occasion for our students. We are looking for a Chair Person for each of the following events:
- Cultural Celebration
- BAE Fun Night
- SAC Representative
If you are interested in Chairing one of these events or would like more details, please email Victoria Margroum at bapto@sycamoreschools.org.

Looking to get involved in BAE PTO? Put your talents to use for a noble cause: helping our students and teachers!
We have TWO open positions on the BAE PTO Executive Board for the 2021-2022 school year: President and Communications Secretary. Each open position could be filled by one person or a team working together. Our current President and Communication Secretary want anyone considering filling these positions to know that they are available to answer questions and give support next school year. Current and past members of the BAE PTO Executive Board really work together as a team to support new board members!
Please consider volunteering for one of these positions!
Contact Victoria Margroum at bapto@sycamoreschools.org or Jill Hagen at baptocomsec@sycamoreschools.org with interest or questions.
