Parking Lot Closures for Job & Internship Fair
On Wednesday, March 25, Career and Professional Development has reserved the following commuter parking lots until 3:00 p.m. for the employers attending the Annual Job & Internship Fair:
- Parking lot in front of the RCC
- Parking lot behind UFCU Alumni Gym
- Parking lot in front of the UFCU Alumni Gym
We ask that faculty, staff and students park in the other designated commuter parking lots on this day. Your cooperation by not parking in the lots mentioned above is greatly appreciated as we give employers a warm welcome to St. Edward's University.
Resume Books for Job Fair Employers - Submit Your Resume
Introducing a new feature of the Job and Internship Fair: Resume Books! Students and alumni are now able to submit their resume to the office of Career and Professional Development who will in turn forward your resume(s) to employer recruiters attending the Job and Internship Fair. You can submit your resume whether or not you will be attending the event, and you can submit a resume to one or more of the resume books.
The DEADLINE to submit your resume(s) to any of the job fair resume books is the day before the event, March 24, Tuesday, 2015.
Below are the links to the three resume books. Please note that the resume submission site is in Hilltop Careers, St. Edward's job and internship database for students and alumni. The resume books are located in the Career Events section of Hilltop Careers. The links below will take you straight to the resume book submission site. If you are a previous and recent user of Hilltop Careers, when you click on the link to submit your resume, you will be asked to log in to Hilltop Careers. If you have never used Hilltop Careers or don't remember your log-in information, at the bottom of the Hilltop Careers log-in page, you will click on "I can't access my account." Further explanation is given on the sign-in page.

Out Youth - Program Intern
Out Youth promotes the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of sexual and gender minority youth so that they can openly and safely explore and affirm their identities. The intern will:
Support program department, including, but not limited to: research, event planning, marketing/PR projects, fundraising, youth outreach, youth leadership development/mentorship, program development/evaluation, and database management.
Front Steps - Art Event Coordinator Intern
Based on the belief that all people deserve the dignity of a safe place to call home, Front Steps’ mission is to provide a pathway home through shelter, affordable housing, and community education. Front Steps is seeking an intern to assist with a one-time, unique opportunity offered to us by a local award-winning artist, Mrs. Sonja A. Kever. Front Steps and the Arch will be hosting a large fundraiser/auction of the resulting 30 portraits." The paintings that have been completed so far may be seen at http://www.streetstories.info/. The Intern will be responsible for helping organize ongoing events and publicizing the project.
GENAustin - Fundraising Intern
GENaustin's mission is to guide and support girls to make wise choices as they navigate the unique pressures of girlhood. The Fundraising Intern will assist the Development Director in various aspects of the management of a small shop Development Department at GENaustin (the Girls Empowerment Network.) The Intern can expect to gain introductory experience in grants management, donor relations, direct mail, and online campaigns.
Skillpoint Alliance - Community Recruitment Intern
We facilitate and sustain industry-led work force development solutions, while addressing the need to develop local talent and provide educational opportunities leading to college and career success for our citizens. Under the supervision of the Community Recruitment Coordinator, the Recruitment Intern supports the planning and execution of the Workforce Acceleration Programs participant and
community partners recruitment efforts.
Sustainable Food Center - Summer Field Trip Intern
SFC cultivates a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to nutritious, affordable food. SFC envisions a food secure community where all children and adults grow, share and prepare healthy, local food. The Summer Field Trip Intern will support SFC staff in the preparation and delivery of gardening, cooking, and other healthy food activities through 10-15 summer field trip experiences offered to established summer camp programs for youth in grades K-12.
Student Information
Students, if you are selected for one of these internships, you will:
- Works a total of 100 hours for Summer 2015 (May 25 - July 31, 2015)
- Be provided $1,000 in the form of an hourly salary of $10/hour for 10 hours a week for 10 weeks
- Be required to write an 800 word blog post about your experience to be posted in The Hilltop Scoop
- Be required to present at the end of the summer about your internship experience to H-E-B representatives, faculty, staff and administration
