Attention
Calling All Superheroes
Be a Superhero and Leap Into Summer Reading
The superheroes need your help to get their superpowers back. By participating in the summer reading program, you can help unlock the vaults holding their powers. But be careful. The super villains have laid traps to keep you from reading, causing your reading level to slide downward this summer. You can help the superheroes get their powers back by reading 20 minutes or more each day and leap ahead in your reading ability by up to 40%.
Come to the Summer Reading Pep Rally and learn how to record your reading minutes and how you can participate in the other fun reading activities that have been designed.
The Superhero Summer Reading Pep Rally
How Does A Pep Rally Work
Students must be accompanied by an adult. All of the Pep Rally volunteers will be busy running stations for the participants.
Superhero Messages
You will be receiving Superhero messages using SMORE that will motivate and encourage children to read. Each message will include a challenge that when met will release the superhero's power and earn the child a badge. Come and learn where you can find the Superhero messages on the the website and how to see the badges that you earn.
Where and What Are Superheroes Reading?
Each week you will have the opportunity to fill out a Google Form where you can share your favorite reading spot of the week. You can even take your picture there and include a link to the picture on the form so others can see where you read. The best part is that you get to choose which Superhero you are reading for that week. Your completed form will be used to create a pin on a Google Map that will be shared on the library webpage. When you participate in the Pep Rally you will learn all the skills you need to participate in this fun activity. I can't wait to see where and what you are reading, plus which Superhero you are reading for.
