Dear Parents,

I hope your family had a nice weekend and found some time to rest and relax together. We are finishing up IAR testing for students in Grades 3-5 and are busy planning many other end of the year activities for the final few weeks of school. It is hard to believe that we are close to beginning the alphabet countdown! Please read below for important school and district news.

  • Last evening, Dr. Hunt and the School Board recognized Paris P., Rose fourth grade student, as the Star Spangled Student for April. Paris was recognized for being an exemplary student and led all meeting attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. She even shared a writing piece about why we should have a therapy dog at Rose School. Way to go, Paris! We are proud of your efforts!

  • COVID Dashboard: We have 5 positive student COVID cases reported at Rose School this week and 2 students in quarantine. We have 1 positive staff case to report. If you have additional questions about positive cases and quarantines, you can also check the district COVID Dashboard for up-to-date district COVID information.

    • Per new school guidelines, District 220 is now accepting negative home covid test results for certain symptoms. Please review the most up-to-date IDPH guidance here.

  • Summer School Registration for 2022 (in-person): Registration is now open for Elementary Summer School. This year, due to construction, Summer School will be held at Lines (not Roslyn) and Barbara B. Rose Elementary School. For information about registration and course information, click here.

Barrington Online Summer School: Enrollment open! Are you looking for a fun, engaging, and flexible summer learning experience for your child this summer? If so, Barrington Online Summer School, also known as the 220 BOSS program, is exactly what you are looking for! Barrington Online Summer School will occur at the end of the summer in an effort to help prepare students for the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. Courses will be either 2 or 4 weeks in length and will provide students with 45-60 minutes of instruction per day. The best part is that students can complete the learning from the comfort of their own home, in their backyard, or while on vacation. If you are interested in learning more about Barrington Online Summer School (BOSS), please follow this link to the district summer school website where you can find course information, dates, cost, and any other pertinent BOSS information.
